Don't Call Candace Bushnell a Cougar!

According to the Daily News, Candace Bushnell, the writer on whose column "Sex and the City" was based, has a "dishy op-ed piece in the September issue of More Magazine" in which she really lays into the whole being called a cougar thing.
"How come every time women manage to break out of traditional roles, someone comes along and tries to ruin it with a derogatory label?" she writes, according to Gatecrasher. "If you're a female CEO, you're a ballbuster. And let's not even go there with Hillary Clinton. In comparison with what she gets called, I suppose cougar is fairly harmless."
Hmmm, this ought to be interesting. She sounds like she's got some, well, opinions. We'll certainly be keeping our eyes open for this screed in More, which incidentally has an article prominently displayed on its home page entitled Cougar Bait: 32 Younger Men We Love. Appears a certain magazine is playing both sides off the middle, no?

It sounds as if Candace hasn't excepted what she is. A cougar, like the animal, is a beautiful thing. Embrace it, Candace. Embrace it...
